Top Tips (Guidance Only)
Feet Toughen your feet by walking as much as possible. Trim toenails and use foot powder. Walk about at home in bare feet as much as possible.
Socks
Wicking walking socks are best.  Change your socks throughout the walk, it is important to keep your feet as dry as possible.
Boots
Light waterproof (Event or Gore-Tex) boots are highly recommended.  Make sure they fit properly and that they are well broken in.
Stretching
Remember to do stretching exercises before and after a long walk.
Hydration
Drink little and often throughout your walk.  Mix energy drinks with water.
Temperature
Maintain a constant body temperature by adjusting your clothing (removing or adding layers).
Breaks
Keep stops and breaks to a maximum of 10 –15 mins at a time or your muscles will begin to seize up.
The Route

If in doubt about the line of the Ivanhoe Way, sit down and work it out on the map before going any further rather than pushing on and possibly going in the wrong direction.
